Oyo State Government has inaugurated the chairmen and members of the Rent Courts across the various parts of the state with a stern warning that whoever is found wanting among them would be summarily dismissed.

The eleven Rent Courts located at Ibadan, Ogbomoso, Ibarapa, Saki, Oyo town, Iseyin and Okeho have a total of 44 members comprising legal practitioners and other professionals notably veteran journalists.

The state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adebayo Ojo who performed the ceremony in his office today called on the chairmen and members of the Rent Courts to maintain their integrity and dispense justice without bias.

While maintaining that the present administration in Oyo State wants the state Rent Courts to be the reference point and model in the Federation, the Commissioner charged the newly-inaugurated chairmen and members to shun corruption, indolence and mediocrity in all its ramifications.
he then assured that the welfare of the chairmen and members of the Rent Courts would be protected by government saying that all they required to discharge their responsibilities effectively would be put in place adding that government would soon embark on awareness campaign to enable the public to know their rights and obligations.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the newly-inaugurated chairman of Ibadan zone of the Rent Courts, Mr. Bayo Akintayo commended Government for the confidence reposed in them promising that they would not betray the good gesture.
