Lagos State First Lady Does Not Operate Any Facebook Account-Governor’s Office

The Office of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Tuesday disowned the existence of any facebook account purportedly being operated by the First Lady of the State, Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola.

According to a Press Release signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Hakeem Bello, the First Lady of Lagos State does not operate a facebook, twitter or indeed any social media account.

Describing impersonation as a criminal offence punishable by law, the release stated that members of the public should beware to avoid falling victim of fraudsters impersonating the First Lady on the facebook or any social media outlet. “For the avoidance of doubt, the First Lady of Lagos State, Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola does not operate any facebook, twitter or indeed any social media account,” the release said.

The attention of the Governor’s Office was recently called to the activities of impostors posing as the wife of the Governor of Lagos State via facebook thus leading to an investigation which revealed about four different facebook accounts purportedly operated by the First Lady.

 The release said perpetrators of the criminal act should desist henceforth or should be ready to face the music when the long arm of the law catches up with them.
