The Police High command
on Tuesday said it has set up a committee to verify the total number of
suspects arrested so far in connection with alleged terrorist activities in the
country.
The Inspector General of
Police said the committee was also given the mandate to ascertain the number of
suspects currently held behind bar by sister security agencies and investigate
their alleged involvement in the various bomb attacks to allow for speedy
prosecutions of the alleged terrorists.
The Police boss who spoke
at a security meeting in Abuja however blamed the delay in prosecuting the
terror suspects on lack of strict enabling law needed to commence trial of the
suspects.
