IGP Charges Investigating Police Officers To Live Up To Public Expectations, Promises To Prosecute Farouk Lawal Over 620 Subsidy Payment Scam


 The Police high command has described cases of unresolved  murders and assassinations of some Nigerians as National embarrassment that must stop in order to restore people’s  confidence in crime management and investigation by the police

To this end, the Inspector General of Police has  flagged off security confluence and workshop in Abuja with the participation of heads of Criminal  Investigation Departments from all police formations across the country

The IGP stated that the Objective of the conference were to strengthen all criminal investing units of the force and retrain its officers to them enable the cope and confront the challenges of 21 century organised crimes within and outside the country


On the 620,000 dollars oil subsidy scam brought against the former chairman of the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc committee on payment of oil subsidy, Farouk Lawal, the inspector General said investigation into the matter was still on-going, assuring that the matter cannot be swept under the carpet

He revealed that the police have commenced investigation into alleged sponsor of terror group by some senators, assuring that with enough evidence the law makers will be prosecuted for alleged terrorist activities
