Governor Adams Oshiomhole has
described the late Justice Kayode Eso as a shining example of patriotism and
discipline.
In a condolence message,
Governor Oshiomhole said: “On behalf of the government and people of Edo State,
I extend my condolence to the family, the Bar and Bench and the good people of
Osun state on the death of Justice Kayode Eso.
“His death has robbed Nigeria of
a shining example of patriotism and discipline. As a jurist, Justice Eso
stamped his imprint as a legend. Widely regarded as Nigeria’s Lord Denning,
Justice Eso was fearless, courageous, erudite and seasoned.
“He distinguished himself in all
areas of professional, social and family life and stood tall among his peers
for his intellectual prowess and high sense of integrity. He was always on the
side of justice and equity.
“While we mourn the loss of such
a great mind, we also celebrate his many accomplishments. His Judicial activism
for which he will forever be remembered has served as a reference point in the
evolution of the nation’s legal jurisprudence.”
“I pray God to grant his soul
peaceful rest and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
