JTF Parades Arrested Sea Pirates

The joint operation on anti piracy and illegal bunkering operation in rivers state  today pararded seven  suspected pirates arrested for alleged illegal bunkering, sea piracy and other criminal activities on the waterways.

At a joint press briefing today at the NNS pathfinder port harcourt, the commanding officer of the base commodore vinci fati said the suspects were arrested last night by the members of the joint task force at ke and pero-kparakama  communities in degema local govt arae of rivers state after receiving a distress call.

He said 51 illegal cooking points and four cotonu boats were also destroyed during the operations.

Our Correspondent reports that Items recovered from the pirates include 4 AK 47, one FN rifle,one pistol and 212 rounds of 7.62 ammunitions.

Also recovered were 4 nokia phones, a file containing documents, 8 matchets and the sum of 530 thousand naira.
