Suspected Christmas day bomber, Kabiru Sokoto is to be
returned to the custody of the State Security Service in Abuja.
A federal High court in Abuja, gave the
order at a resume hearing of the trial of the suspect.
Sokoto, who had been in the custody of the
Nigerian Prisons Service, was returned to the SSS following compliants from his
counsel that access to him was not granted by the prison authorities.
He is facing a two count charge of conspiracy and
terrorism before Justice Ademola Adeniyi of the federal High court.
Sokoto, whose real name is Kabiru Abubakar Dikko,
escaped from police custody after his initial arrest on January 14, 2012
while being led to his Abuja home for a search.
He was eventually re-arrested on February 10,
2012, and has since remained in custody.
