Gun Men Kills 8 In Bayelsa



Armed Men,suspected to be renegade Militia groups in the Niger Delta have launched a deadly attack in Lorbia community of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, killing  Eight persons .

 Among those killed were five ex-militant youths that embraced amnesty under the Federal Government Amnesty programme.

The armed attack occurred on Saturday night at the Lorbia waterside closed to where the twelve policemen were shot dead.

Reports say the killed youths were tricked into the creek before they were shot dead.

Community sources told our correspondent  that the killers were suspected to be the same killers of the slain 12 Policemen.

 The Spokesman of the Joint Military Task Force,Lt.Col.Onyeama Nwachukwu who confirmed the incident said the bodies of the casualty from the armed confrontation are still in the River.

Nwachukwu added that the JTF have carried out a cordon and search operation in the community  and recovered items including two Ak 47 riffles,One GPMG barrel,six AK47 magazines,one speed boats and other items.
