The special taskforce (STF)
Operation safe haven in Jos have rescued 8 individuals who were suspected to
have been kidnapped across various locations within the metropolis.
The victims were rescued by the
anti- Kidnapping squad of the STF following a raid on Chiwarna Hotel located at
Zinaria Layout in Jos North Local Government area.
Two members of the suspected
kidnapping gang and the hostel manager have been arrested and are currently
undergoing interrogation.
Media Coordinator of the STF,
Captain Salisu Mustapha in a statement on Saturday said the suspected
Kidnappers had contacted the families of the victims and requested them to pay
various sums of money.
According to Captain Salisu he said ``based
on intelligence report provided to the STF, the STF wishes to inform the
general Public and particularly the good people of Plateau of the raid
operation it conducted on July 12 2013 with remarkable success.’’
