The Nigerian Army has denied media
reports on the promotion of former Chief Security Officer to late President
Sanni Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustaphar to the rank of Brig Gen following his recent
acquittal by the court.
In a
statement by the Director of Army Information, Brig Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, the
Army said, as a professional force, it was guided by extant rule of harmonised
condition of service.
It
also urged the media to always cross check information before publication.
