Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar says the Police is investigating the incidents in Rivers state over the last 2 days.
But Mr Abubakar specifically denied reports that Government House, Port Harcourt was tear gassed by Police on Wednesday stressing that no reasonable Commissioner of Police would go that far.
The Inspector General however expressed concern over allegations that the Police had been dragged into politics in Rivers state noting however that no written document had reached him to date accusing the Rivers State Commissioner of Police of any offense.
