Stakeholders in the Health sector on
Wednesday converged on Abuja, the Nation,s Capital to brainstorm on the
challenges of implementing the National Health Insurance Scheme NHIS
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the one-day forum, the Acting Executive Secretary Dr Abdulrahman Sambo said one of the challenges of the scheme was the need to have comprehensive data base of all enrollees in the formal sector, adding that his office has acquired the software that will allow intending enrollee registers online
Sambo said the forum was organise to allow participants ask questions and get clarification on alleged abuse of the process and delay in releasing the NHIS identity cards to registered enrollees
He enjoined all enrollees at the state level who have issues with the operation of the health insurance scheme to attend similar stakeholder meetings scheduled to hold in each state of the federation
