Retired IGPs meet with Police High Command to brainstorm on Nation's security challenge


In a move to provide lasting solutions to the Nation’s security challenge, the Police High Command on Monday met with nine retired Inspector Generals of Police to tap from their weight of experience

The meeting which kept journalists waiting for over four hours was held behind close door and hosted by the Acting Inspector General of Police at the Force Headquarters

The Retired Inspector Generals of Police who attended the meeting include: Alhaji Gambo  Jimata, Mohammed Yusuf, Sunday Adewusi, Aliyu Attah, Ibrahin Kumasi, Musiliu Smith, Tafa Balogun, Sunday Ehindero and Mike Okiro, while Ogbonna Onovo and the immediate past Inspector General of Police, Haffiz Ringim were however absent

Briefing newsmen after the meeting, the retired wise men said they were at the force headquarters to provide the needed support to one of their own at this critical time of seeking advice from concern Nigerians to tackle the menace of terrorism in the country

On the scam associated with the police pension scheme, GAMBO JIMATA described the situation as worrisome and called for a decisive action to put an end to what he called a monumental fraud


The Acting Inspector General of police, said he would continue to reach out to the Retired Inspector General of police for advice and support in order tackle some the security challenges bedeviling the nation
