AIG zone two solicits assistance of Lagos and Ogun state governments to curb trans border crime

The new Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone Two, Ibrahim Tsafe has sought the assistance of governments of Lagos and Ogun states in combating trans border crime in their zone.

Tsafe who made the appeal today during a courtesy call on Governor Babatunde Fashola at the Lagos House in Ikeja noted that trans border crime has been on the increase within the two states.

He urged Governor Fashola and his Ogun State counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun to come to the aid of the police in order to address the situation.

He said clearing of Oshodi by Fashola`s administration and other black spots in the metropolis had sent most of the criminals to the border communities.

Governor Fashola in his response urged the Police to collaborate with the Immigration Service towards issuance of land cards to foreigners coming into the country.

He said this would ensure proper collation of data of foreigners.
