Nigeria's Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen
Azubuike Ihejirika , has insisted the killing of nine suspected terrorists in
Apo legislative quarters in Abuja, was a pre-emptive measure to forestall
attacks in the Federal Capital Territory.
The
Army Boss, who appeared before the House of Representatives' Committee on
National Security, explained that military operatives who were on the operation
were attacked by occupants of the building before they returned fire.
Chairman
of the Committee, Bello Mutawalle, assured Nigerians the Parliament would
unravel the truth behind the killings.
