Rivers State Government Denies Deporting Non-Indegenes From The State.



The Rivers State government has denied report that it deported more than one hundred destitute from the state.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Information and Communication Ibim Semenitari told our correspondent in a telephone interview that Rivers state policy considers people who live and do business in Rivers State as Rivers indigene.

The Rivers State commissioner for Information and Communication also said destitute and mentally sick people in Rivers State are usually rehabilitated and have an option to either remain in the state or go to their state of origin.

The Rivers State commissioner for Information and Communication also denied reports that civil servants in the state have not been paid July salaries.

Ibim Semenitari explained that the new central bank policy on ten digits migration was responsible for the delay in the part of the banks.
