NANS Divided Over ASUU Strike

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students is now sharply divided over the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Acedemic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The Students Union President, University of Ibadan, Babatunde Badmus gave the indication today in Ibadan.

Badmus who claimed that the leadership of NANS led by Yinka Gbadebo had failed Nigerian Students alleged that the leadership of NANS jettisoned the interest of nigerian students by using the strike to make money.

According to him, ASUU is fighting for a very good education in the country to secure the future of Nigerian youths.

Badmus hinted that the student body has uncovered plans by the federal government to kill public education so as to deny children of pepper sellers and okada riders education who cannot afford the exorbitant fees in private universities.

Badmus lamented the lukewarm attitude of the National Assembly to the ongoing strike saying their attitude shows they preferred crisis in public education alleging that the national assembly would have threatened impeachment for their selfish reasons against the president he fails to meet their demands.
