The
Federal Government shed more light on the controversy surrounding the alleged
death of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau on Wednesday saying there was no
reason for there to be little confidence about the pronouncement.
Briefing
newsmen at State House abuja after the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting
Information Minister Labaran Maku said since the declaration of the State of
Emergency in three states of the North East a lot of progress had been made in
returning the country to normalcy.
The
Federal Government leaving pronouncements of the progress achieved during the
State of Emergency to the Military has been deliberate because it seeks to
divorce the operations from antics and pronouncements of politicians.
But
the Information Minister is making an exception in this case because of the
inconclusive nature of the announcement of Abubakar Shekau's alleged death.
There
is no reason to doubt the Military, he says.
