The State Security Service
has alleged that the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Lamido
Sanusi is financing terrorism.
The allegation is
contained in a counter-affidavits filed before the Federal High
Court which is hearing a suit instituted by Lamido
Sanusi.
The ex-CBN chief is
seeking a perpetual injunction to restrain the SSS and the police from
arresting him.
Counsel to the former CBN
boss, Kola Awodein however told the court that the allegation was an
afterthought which government came up with after seizing his client’s
passport.
