The Rivers State government
has described the suspension of Governor Rotimi Amaechi by the PDP as a
political witch-hunt.
A statement issued by the
Rivers State Commissioner of Information and Communication Ibim Semenitari said
the reasons given for the suspension was purely a legislative matter.
Ibim Semenitari said the
suspension of the Obio/Akpor council chairman and the seventeen councilors was
done in accordance to the law of local government councils in Rivers State.
