Care taker
committees across eighteen local government councils in Edo state have
been dissolved with immediate effect.
Edo state house
of assembly took the decision this morning and directed the former chairmen, councillors and
secretaries to immediately hand over all government properties under
their care to the most senior civil servant in the various councils. The
continuous administration of the councils with controversy particularly
after a high court sitting at Ekpoma nullified their tenure as
unconstitutional, null and void.
The main
opposition in the state PDP has also severally challenged the action in court
while the state governor remained adamant.
