5 VARSITY STUDENTS PARADED IN CONNECTION WITH $27,000 FRAUD




Five students of the Lead City University, Ibadan were today paraded over their alleged involvement in Internet fraud.

The five who among twenty other suspects paraded for different criminal activities were of the Mass Communication department of the university.

They were arrested at a hotel room while perfecting another fraud. The leader of the gang, Nurudeen Oyeniyi, 23 years is a three hundred level student who confessed that he had personally made over $27,000 dollars in the last one year he started the fraud business the last of which was a $10,000 dollars hit from a female victim from the United States of America.

While addressing the press, Joseph Mbu disclosed that the police internet fraud unit found that on the laptop confiscated from the suspects that the gang were on another fraud adventure.

Also recovered from the gang was a Range Rover Jeep which Nurudeen claimed to have bought to the tune of N6.2million naira from the proceeds of cyber-crime.
Also paraded were a male househelp who allegedly stole Jewelry worth 25million naira but sold it to a Bureau-de-change staff at N9million.

Others are one suspected robber still living with gun-shot wounds and another dead who participated in a Bank robbery which happened at Iseyin yesterday during which two traffic wardens were shot dead.  

Items recovered from them included rounds of ammunition, Ak47 riffles, and charms among other lethal weapons
