The Anambra state Commissioner of Police, Bala
Nassarawa has called for patience on the parts of the Public, as the Inspector
General Homicide Crack team arrived Anambra state for thorough investigation of
the cause of the floating bodies.
The Police Commissioner said the Command arrested 30 suspected
armed robbers and 29 alleged kidnappers for the month of January.
Displaying some of the arms and ammunition recovered from
suspected criminals in the month of January, CP Bala Nassarawa said 6 AK 47, 7
locally made pistols and over 850 live ammunition were recovered from various
operations of the command this year.
He went on to narrate the achievement of the Special
Anti Robbery squad of the Command in rescuing a year old baby in the hands of
his abductors.
On the floating body saga, which is still a mystery for
now, the Commissioner of Police called for patient on the part of the general
public, as he said that the Inspector General of Police has sent crack homicide
detectives to unravel the mystery behind the death of these yet to be identified
bodies?
It is pertinent to
recall that the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubarka earlier this year
warned that there must be respect for human right in Anambra.
While we now wait for the outcome of the ongoing
investigation, it is important to know that an autopsy has been down on some of
the exhumed bodies,
while result of the toxicology are now been awaited.
