Oyo Lawmaker Shot



A member of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Bamidele Ojo has been shut by unknown gunmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.

The lawmaker, who represents Ibadan South East II State Constituency from Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) was attacked by gang of armed robbers on Sunday morning near Egbeda area of Ibadan city.

The first term lawmaker not only sustained severe gunshot injuries but his Toyota Avensis car was snatched along valuable items by gunmen.

Our man reliably gathered that, Hon Bamidele presently hospitalized at the intensive care unit of the University College Hospital (UCH, Ibadan.

Sources from the hospital revealed that, the lawmaker has been slated for second surgery on Wednesday) adding that appreciable number of bullets were extracted from his body during the first surgery.

Recent withdrawal of men of the Nigeria Police from the government joint security patrol team which includes Army, Police and Civil Defence called "Operation Burst" has contributed immensely to security slack in the last few weeks across the state.

However, remedial visit of Governor Abioal Ajimobi to the state police command on Monday evening yielded a fruitful result as the Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mbu assured 'new operation burst' in the state.
