Despite President Goodluck Jonathan's inviting
Governors to join him at the "Champion For Women" dinner at State
House Banquet Hall, Abuja, 15Governors and1 Deputy Governor met briefly
on Wednesday night at the Rivers State Governors Lodge under the aegis of the
Nigeria Governors Forum
This is despite news spread on the social media
earlier in the day that the meeting had been cancelled in deference to the
President's summons
The Governors at the meeting were those of:
Rivers, Adamawa, KAno, Jigawa, Edo, Lagos, Ogun, Nasarawa, Zamfara, Sokoto,
Ekiti,Osun, Niger, Imo and Yobe and the Deputy Governor of Borno State
The Chairman of the NGF said they had decided to
meet briefly before honouring the President's invitation
