The
Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, disclosed that his quest to put
up a result-oriented Cabinet that would connect the government to
the people, led to the dissolution of the State Executive Council.
He said
he had been receiving strange messages from concerned citizens on why he sacked
his commissioners and Special Advisers midway into his 4-year tenure.
Fayemi
on Wednesday announced cabinet dissolution after the weekly EXCO
meeting in Ado Ekiti, the State Capital.
The
Governor gave the clarification while swearing –in a new set of eight
permanent secretaries just appointed by the State Government.
The
Permanent Secretaries are: Dr Tope Adeyemo, Barr Bamidele Agbede,
Mr Kola Ajumobi, Dr Olufolakemi Olomojobi, Mr Olusesan Alabi, Engr
Abegunde Ebenezer, Mr Owoseeni Mathew Adeyemi, Mrs
Olufunke Falodun.
Fayemi, who likened his cabinet to a football team said, “ In a football match, when you get to half time, it is a onerous responsibility of the coach and team managers to review the team.
There
are some players who are full strikers and who can score goals. But there are
also strikers, who cannot score goals.
