Why I Dissolved Cabinet--Fayemi

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, disclosed that his quest to put up a result-oriented Cabinet  that would connect the government to the people, led to the dissolution of the State Executive Council.

He said he had been receiving strange messages from concerned citizens on why he sacked his commissioners and Special Advisers midway into his 4-year tenure.

Fayemi on Wednesday announced cabinet  dissolution  after the weekly EXCO meeting in Ado Ekiti, the State Capital.

The Governor gave the clarification while swearing –in  a new set of eight permanent secretaries just appointed  by the State Government.

The Permanent Secretaries are:  Dr Tope Adeyemo, Barr Bamidele Agbede,  Mr Kola Ajumobi, Dr Olufolakemi  Olomojobi, Mr Olusesan Alabi,  Engr Abegunde Ebenezer,  Mr Owoseeni  Mathew  Adeyemi,  Mrs  Olufunke Falodun.

Fayemi, who likened his cabinet to a football team said, “ In a football match, when you get to half time, it is a onerous responsibility of the coach and team managers to review the team.

There are some players who are full strikers and who can score goals. But there are also strikers, who cannot score goals.
