Unknown gunmen have
kidnapped the parents of the Chairman of Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa
State.
The Kidnapped
parents, Mr Festus Ibegu and Mrs.Ebiye Ibegu were abducted at their residence
last night at Oloibiri by the gunmen while relaxing at home.
The gunmen invaded
the area with a speed boat and shot sporadically to scare any intruder.
The kidnappers
escaped with their victims by passing through Oloibiri water ways to an unknown
destination.
This is coming barely
a week after the kidnapped mother of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly,Betinah
Benson, was released by gunmen after the payment of a ransom.
No group has claimed
responsibility for the abduction of the Chairman's parents whose whereabout are
unknown.
The Police Public
Relations Officer in the state,Fidelis Odunna who confirmed the incident says a
Police crack team and Intelligence Unit have been dispatched to the area to
track down the kidnappers.
