The Anambra state independent electoral commission, ANSIEC says its collaboration with INEC to print electoral material for council polls in the state is enough proof that the commission is ready to conduct the election at a yet to be announced date.
The Commissioner overseeing ANSIEC, Honourable Sylvester Okonkwo who gave the indication at a media conference in his office in Awka said the move will save ANSIEC about 46 million naira.
Okonkwo who declined announcing a definite date for the election assured all stakeholders that the commission is ready to conduct local government election in Anambra state for the first time since 1998.
ANSIEC has been involved in litigation with the former chairman, Professor Titus Eze who was sacked by Governor Peter Obi for allegedly mismanaging millions of naira.
