Mrs Aregbesola Urges Women To Ensure Stable Home

Wife of the Governor of the state of Osun, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola has called on women in the state to give priority to the nutrition of their family by acquiring new skills in home management.

She disclosed this while flagging-off Maggi women forum to interact with one another on ways on acquiring new skills in home management, Nutrition, Health and Home Gardening held at Bishop Court Isale Aro Osogbo.

Mrs Aregbesola urged women in the state to avail themselves the opportunity presented by the organisers to equip themselves with the necessary skill to keeping a hygienic family and bring about visible improvement in home affairs in the State.

She eulogized the determination of women in the state towards achieving self reliance and ensuring family upkeep, saying government would complement their efforts by providing an enabling environment for their success.

“It is delightful to note that women in this state belong to the highest class of virtuous, intelligent and hardworking women in Nigeria. They are women, who are ready to make positive impacts towards the development of the ‘State of Omoluabi’ and they should always be encouraged to do so. 

It is noteworthy that this forum is coming at an appropriate time when different socio-economic programmes are being executed throughout the state in line with the six point’s integral action plan of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola administration, especially food security for the teeming populace.

I want to emphasize the determination of the Governor and his team to bring about remarkable improvement in the standard of living among our women in the State”, she added.

The wife of the governor further commended the state government for enthroning gender sensitivity and responsiveness in all development issues in the state.  

Earlier, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Adetoun Adegboyega and the Manager, Consumer Services, Nestles Nigeria Limited, Mrs Imabong Martins stressed that the forum was organized to help women in the state enrich family nutrients using the available resources.

Adegboyega urged beneficiaries at the event to show their children and other who could not make it to the event how to maintain stability at home through nourishing cooking and provision of balanced diet for the household. 

The state first lady also demonstrate how to plant vegetables in the compound among women, saying such practice go a long way in reducing scarcity of cooking materials and enhance body immunity among the family.

Highlight of the forum was live demonstration of how to cook nourishing food by outfit’s resource person, Mrs Iyabo Lawani.
