Sanusi Was Suspended For Financial Recklessness - Presidency

The Presidency has explained that Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Sanusi Lamido was suspended following his alleged indictment by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria for a long list of infractions including financial recklessness, incompetence and unbudgeted financial interventions.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Reuben Abati who addressed newsmen at State House, Abuja strenuously maintained that the CBN Governor was not suspended because of his ongoing testimony before the House of Representatives on the alleged missing twenty billion dollars oil proceeds.

Reuben Abati also said the suspension of the CBN Governor would not in any way affect the nation’s economy.
