Central African Republic Gets First Female President

The interim parliament in the Central African Republic has elected the Mayor of Bangui Catherine Samba-Panza as the country’s new leader.

She is first woman to hold that position in that country.

Samba-Panza beat her rival Desire Kolingba in the second round of voting.

Meanwhile, the EU Foreign Ministers have agreed to send troops to the Central Africa Republic to end sectarian violence.
