The management and entire board
of Coalition for Good Governance (CGG) is saddened to note that despite several
appeals from patriotic and public spirited individuals and groups to the
Medical Guild to shelve its 3 days warning strike in Lagos State
Already, the strike is taking its
toll on innocent ordinary persons whose only hope of accessing medical care is
through the services provided by public hospitals since private medical cost is
beyond their reach. We are saddened the more by the pain and anguish exhibited
on the faces of patients and their families who have been denied medical care
as a result of this avoidable industrial action.
The Coalition for Good Governance
(CGG) is hereby using this medium to profusely and patriotically appeal to the
Medical Doctors to allow their allegiance to their oath which is predicated on
saving lives be their guiding philosophy in all actions. We are hereby calling
on the Doctors to immediately call off the warning strike and enter into
dialogue with the state government to resolve outstanding areas of disputes in
the agreement.
