The Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission EFCC, has appealed against the judgement of the Federal High
Court in Lagos which discharged the Speaker of the Lagos State House of
Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji and his aide Oyebode Atoyebi of money laundering
charges.
Justice Ibrahim Buba had
on September twenty six discharged the accused after upholding a no-case
submission filed on their behalf by their lawyers
The EFCC in its notice of
appeal want the appellate court to set aside the decision of the lower court on
grounds that it was erroneous and perverse.
