The United States has excluded Nigeria and eighteen other countries from
participating in its Diversity VISA Lottery Programme.
The US State Department said Nigeria was no longer eligible because over
fifty thousand Nigerians had immigrated into the US in the last five years.
Other countries affected include, Brazil, Bangladesh, Canada, China,
Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El-Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico and
Peru.
Others are Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom and Vietnam.
