The Appeal Court in Abuja
has held that the use of Armed Forces to conduct elections is a violation of
the nineteen ninety nine constitution and the Electoral Act.
The Court therefore barred
the use of the military in the conduct of future elections in the country.
The appellate court held
that whoever unleashed soldiers on Ekiti for the June twenty first, twenty
fourteen governorship election violated the constitution.
The court was delivering
judgment in the appeal by the APC against the election of Governor Ayo Fayose.
