Niger State Governor Bars Deputy From State Council Meeting

Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State has barred his deputy Alhaji Ahmed Ibeto from the state executive council meeting for defecting from the PDP to the APC.

The governor accused the deputy of calling him a thief during a campaign rally by the APC.

The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Israel Ebiye said the action was taken to prevent Alhaji Ibeto from revealing strategies of the PDP to the APC.

The Deputy Governor said the Governor has no power to stop him from attending the state executive council meeting.
