The Ekiti State
Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja has dismissed the petition
filed by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate Kayode Fayemi challenging
the victory of Governor Ayodele Fayose in the election held in June this year.
The court held that the petition was lacking
in merit.
The court dismissed all
issues raised in the petition, including the claim that Governor Fayose was
ineligible to contest the election based on his purported impeachment and
certificate forgery.
Meanwhile, Governor Ayodele
Fayose has dedicated his victory at Election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja
to God and the entire citizens of the state.
The Governor said the
victory has affirmed the supremacy of God and the voice of Ekiti people which
they exercised through their votes during the June twenty-first governorship
election in the state.
