Government Set To Sanction Telecommunication Companies Over Poor Services


Telecommunication service providers who fail to render good quality services to subscribers after December thirty one risk prosecution by the Federal Government.

The Minister of Communication Technology Omobola Johnson disclosed this at a stakeholders meeting in Lagos.

The minister said should on-going investigation show that any service provider had deliberately short-changed Nigerians through poor services such an operator may be prosecuted and risk jail terms of up to five years.


The Director-General of the Consumer Protection Council Dupe Atoki also spoke on the council’s plan to protect the interest of telecom subscribers.
