The Peoples Democratic
Party Campaign Council, has called on the Presidential Candidate of the All
Progressive Congress, Muhammadu Buhari to hand himself over to the nearest
Police Station in the Country for interrogation and prosecution over his
certificate controversy.
Spokesman for the group, Femi
Fani Kayode, at a media parley in Abuja, accused the retired general of lying
on oath when he claimed his credentials were in the custody of the Nigerian
Army.
The implication of
the action, the PDP said, was nothing but perjury and a grave criminal offence
under the constitution.
The party also urged the Nigerian Armed Forces to consider the possibility
of stripping General Buhari of his rank and privileges given the fact that he
was never qualified to join the Nigerian Army as a commissioned officer in
the first place.
