A
Federal High Court in Abuja has sacked the Acting Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu
Fintiri from office.
Justice
Ademola Adeniyi also ordered the swearing of former Deputy Governor, Bala
Ngilari as the substantive governor.
He
also directed INEC to stop the conduct of this Saturday’s governorship
bye-election in the state.
The
judge held that the purported resignation of Bala Ngilari was null and void
because he did not submit a letter to that effect to the then governor, Murtala
Nyako.
Festus
Keyamo said what the then Speaker of Adamawa State House of Assembly Ahmadu
Fintiri did was tantamount to a civilian coup.
