The five month-old strike
by the Academic Staff Union of Universities may be called off within one week.
ASUU gave this indication
yesterday after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal
Government in Abuja.
The Supervising Minister
of Education, Nyesom Wikesaid all the contending issues between both parties
have been resolved.
ASUU President, Doctor
Nasir Fagge said the document signed with the government contained all the
issues agreed with President Jonathan.
The NLC President, Abdulwaheed Omar who was
part of the meeting commended the President for his commitment to the
resolution of the crisis.
The memorandum contained the no victimization clause demanded by ASUU.
