Times may become harder for importers of used cars over the
next few weeks as the Federal Executive Council has endorsed a new National
Automotive policy to curb the over N672 billion being spent on cars
importation annually.
Minister
of Trade and Investments, Olusegun Aganga, disclosed this while briefing newsmen at State House, Abuja after the weekly meeting of the Federal
Executive Council
Dr
Aganga said the policy when implemented would encourage local manufacturing of
vehicles and enforce a gradual phase out of used cars popularly known as
``tokunbo ‘’.
