The
General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG), Pastor
Enoch Adeboye has warned politicians and people in authority against
promoting self interests at the expense of the generality of the people.
Pastor
Adeboye came out with this in Yenagoa at a Public Service seminar for top
Government functionaries as part of activities marking the 10th Anniversary of
the church in Bayelsa state.
The
Cleric said God would only exalt and provide for those who place service to
mankind above their own interests, as God would always cater for people who
tend to his sheep.
Pastor
Adeboye, urged the people to acknowledge the fact that whatever positions
they were occupying was for a purpose, emphasizing that if they utilize them to
impact on people positively or negatively they would be rewarded accordingly.
In his
remarks, the Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson said the essence of
his Restoration Government was to build institutions and systems to engender
sustainable development and entrench democratic principles.
Dickson
explained that this vision informed the decision to provide legal backing to
the yearly Thanksgiving Day and other laws geared towards promoting
accountability and good governance.
