SSS Urges Journalists To Stop Magnifying Terrorist Activities


The State Security Services SSS has said the Nation's security agencies are not overwhelmed by the spate of terrorist activities in the Country

The Director General of the SSS Ita Ekpenyong  who stated this in Abuja also urged journalists to stop magnifying the activities of terrorists through sensational reports

The Director General spoke while declaring open a  four-day Security Training for Crime Correspondents with the theme: Mass Media and National Security" held at the. Institute of Security Studies, Abuja

The Director General clarified that he  is not urging media practitioners  to become a mouthpiece of Government but to remember that the worst thing a Journalist can do is to exaggerate the threats and make terrorists' message louder to deepen people's fear and sharpen the division in society

The Guest Speaker who is also the Director General of the NTA, Musa Meyanki called on media practitioners in the country to join hands with government to check the menace of terrorism in the country.
