32 Policemen Killed In Lagos In One Year



 At least thirty two policemen have been killed in Lagos State by armed robbers during gun battle in last one year.

The State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko who made this known at the sixth Town Hall Meeting on Security said the policemen also killed one hundred and forty robbers in the process of gun battle.

Manko's presentation at the meeting also showed an increase in the number of robbery cases in state as one hundred and twenty three armed robbery incidents were recorded in the last one year as against the sixty one robbery cases that took place in the previous year.

For his part, Governor Babatunde Fashola disclosed that the state had provided fund, equipment and logistics valued at eight point seven billion naira for the police and other security agencies in the state. 

He lamented that the challenge of equipping and resourcing the security agencies in the face of the insufficient support from the Federal Government has continued till this day.
