NEMA Presents Relief Materials To Widows Of Slain Soldiers


The National Emergency Management Agency has presented relief materials to widows of slain soldiers in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in Maiduguri.

The Director, Search and Rescue of the agency, Air Commodore Chris Otegba, presented the materials to the GOC of seven-Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri Maj.-Gen. Lamidi Adeosun.

He said the president directed that NEMA should lend support to the widows of slain soldiers in addition to what it has been providing to Internally Displaced Persons to boost the morale of soldiers currently uprooting the insurgents.

SSS Restores Speaker Tambuwal Security Details


Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal arrived at the National Assembly with the full complement of his State Security Service details today.

This is the first time they would be providing security cover for the Speaker since they were withdrawn more than four months.

On arrival the Speaker declined to comment on the latest development as the security men hurriedly led him into his office.

NDLEA Arrests Single Mother For Inserting Heroin In Her Private Part


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested an Aba-based thirty one-year-old single mother for concealing four hundred and thirty grammes of heroin in her Private part in a bid to avoid arrest.

The arrest took place at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos during the inward screening of passengers on an Emirate flight.

NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport, Hamza Umar while commenting on the incident said that the arrest was facilitated with the aid of scanning machines.

Preliminary investigation carried out by the NDLEA indicates that the suspect has established link with some Pakistani drug traffickers who sponsored her trip in collaboration with some local accomplices.

APC Asks President Jonathan To Come Clean Over Nigeria-Morocco Diplomatic Row


The All Progressives Congress has asked the Jonathan-led Administration to come clean with Nigerians on the cause of the ongoing diplomatic row between Nigeria and Morocco that has forced the Kingdom to recall its Ambassador to Nigeria, while portraying Nigeria as a liar.

In a statement issued in Lagos by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party said President Jonathan must in particular clarify the thorny issue of whether or not he spoke with King Mohammed of Morocco.

The Party said, in effect, Morocco has called Nigeria a liar and it therefore behoves President Jonathan to personally intervene to address such an international embarrassment.

The APC added that until President Jonathan cleared the air, all Nigerians, irrespective of their political leanings, will remain liars in the eyes of the international community.

Fuel Scarcity Hits Parts Of Nigeria


Fuel scarcity has hit parts of the country including the Federal Capital Territory.

Major oil marketers had reduced fuel imports over unpaid two hundred and sixty four billion naira subsidy arrears.

The NNPC has in the meantime warned against panic buying, adding the current scarcity was artificial.

The Corporation said it had injected six hundred and eighty eight million litres of the product into the system.
