SENATE APPROVES JONATHAN'S REQUEST TO SACK A FEDERAL COMMISSIONER

The senate today unanimously granted President Goodluck Jonathan's request to sack Mohammed Gwaska as a member representing Nasarawa State in  the Federal Character Commission.

The approval by the senate followed the adoption of the recommendations of its committee on Federal Character Commission headed by senator Awesu  Dahiru Kuta .

President Goodluck Jonathan had forwarded a letter to the Senate, requesting that Gwaska be removed from office for absenting himself from duty without official authorisation as well as  ''unlawfully retaining official cars and some strategic official files of the Commission.

The committee found that the President was right to have demanded for the removal of Gwaska.

Senate President David Mark in his remark said the removal of Gwaska would serve as a lesson for those who crave for appointment but end up not discharging their duties accordingly.
Senator Mark further called on President Goodluck Jonathan not to spare the rod on inefficient officials in the nation’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
